Sealers will help protect your stone against stains. It is widely known that marble can stain, and therefore consumers have shied away from using marble in high traffic areas over the years. While sealers are advertised to prevent these stains, marble has such a high porosity-rate that there is no guarantee when it comes to stains.

The good news is that over the past few years, better sealers have come out. It is true that even with these “super” sealers, or sometimes known as “permanent sealers,” marble can stain, however, the performance of the newer sealers is superior to the old ones, and provides much better protection.

The reason Fairfax Marble and Granite can confidently provide marble for a wide array of applications is because we have become certified applicators of the three best “permanent” sealers on the market. While we have opinions about which sealer works the best, we give our clients the option to choose the sealer they prefer. For convenience and preparation, we offer our clients samples to take home of different marbles with whichever sealer they would like to try. This way you are free to “test” the sample for stains or any kind of wear you think you may incur. Fairfax Marble recommends using an ugrade sealer for light color stone. In addition, some cheap granite may not have nice finish.
